The Pterasite Colony cannot move or directly attack by itself. Several Pterasites surround it, dropping bombs on nearby players. Once a Pterasite drops its bomb, it will fly back to the colony, which will “give” the Pterasite another bomb to drop. In addition, the colony itself can manually throw Pterasite Bombs at nearby players.
The Pterasite Colony is permanently invulnerable until being hit with an Explosive Barrel. Once it hits half health, it will go invulnrable again, requiring another Barrel to break its invulnerability. In addition, due to its DEF of 2000, using a barrel to break its armor is the main way to make it take reasonable damage.

Pterasite Bomb
This is arguably the least threatening colony in the dungeon. The Pterasites cannot inflict serious damage with their bombs and the colony itself gives away its own bombs with a lobbing animation. The explosions of shots from the bombs are rather spread-out and easy to dodge, however standing on one when it explodes is not advisable.
Hit the colony with Explosive Barrels whenever possible. Not only are they required to drop its invulnerability, they also break its armor and allow players to bypass its ridiculous defense while doing a fair amount of damage themselves.
