With the range of the [Heartstealer Skull](/wiki/heartstealer-skull) and the damage of a [Lifedrinker Skull](/wiki/lifedrinker-skull)/[Bloodsucker Skull](/wiki/bloodsucker-skull), it can be safely used as a replacement for the aforementioned skulls. This is especially true due to the fact that the skull costs 5 less MP to use and the attack bonus far outweighs the speed hindrance of the ability. However, keep in mind that it gives 30 less HP compared to the aforementioned Bloodsucker Skull.

{{template-skull-navigation}}","{{template-item-header
| name=Skullish Remains of Esben
| externalIcon=//imgur.com/Ytpddcl.png
| projName=Esben Skull AoE
| externalProjIcon=//imgur.com/cN5wSoc.png
| desc=The skull still seems to contain some of the Void Entity's power.
}}

{{template-ability-stats
| tier=UT
| mp=110
| onEquip=+40 HP, +4 ATT, -3 SPD
| effect=On enemies: Inflicts {{template-slowed}} for 2.5 seconds
| dmg=
| defIgnored=30
| radius=3
| skullHeal=90
| skullHealRange=4 (+0.5 tiles for every 10 WIS above 50)
| fameBonus=7
| fp=800
| forgeTier=B
| forgable=true
| forgeMarkType=esben
| forgeMarkAmount=1
}}

{{template-drops-from
| bag=White
| drops=Esben the Unwilling

However, it only slows for 2.5 seconds, so it is nearly impossible to keep enemies permanently slowed with this skull alone (lest you have close to a maxed Magic Heal pet).

It has a fairly small radius (the same as the [Heartstealer Skull](/wiki/heartstealer-skull)) and does a bit less damage than the [Lifedrinker Skull](/wiki/lifedrinker-skull). The skull also costs the same as the latter, and the +4 attack bonus usually outweighs the -3 Speed debuff, even for a slower class like the Necromancer. However, keep in mind that it does also give 30 fewer HP compared to the aforementioned Lifedrinker Skull, making the Necromancer squishier than most other options.

Nevertheless, the skull can be safely used as a main. It is one of the more common white bag items, so can be relatively easily replaced. If you truly don't have any use of it, it becomes nice pet food, bringing 800 feed power to whichever pet you want to feed it to.

The -3 SPD stat bonus for the skull is mirrored by the +3 SPD bonus of the [Staff of Esben](/wiki/staff-of-esben).

History
The description used to refer to 'the Dark Spirit', but was changed to the [Void Entity](/wiki/void-entity) to accomodate the lore for the [Lost Halls](/wiki/lost-halls).
